this paragraph really resonated with me in terms of changing my perspective: “alcohol doesn’t relax you. It actually slows down your brain’s neural activity, It dulls your thinking, and reaction time which can feel like relief if your mind has been racing all day. The contrast between an overstimulated mind and a chemically slowed one feels like peace, But it’s not real peace or true relaxation. It’s chemical sedation. -
